What is Restorative Practices?
Restorative Practices, also referred to as Restorative Justice, is an approach to solving problematic behavior in schools that focuses on building a positive community for students and stakeholders. Schools that use Restorative Practices replace punitive discipline systems with techniques such as Responsive Circles or Restorative Conferencing, which restore the positive community by repairing the harm done. Wrongdoers are then less likely to become repeat offenders and are welcomed back into the fold.
