Kickboard’s professional development services, including the new Advancing Racial Equity in Education program, will help LAUSD schools build leadership capacity for school culture and equity initiatives
NEW ORLEANS — July 10, 2018 — Kickboard has been selected by the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) Board of Education as an approved vendor for professional development. Kickboard is the maker of the Kickboard school culture system, which includes a highly configurable, web-based platform and collaborative, research-based professional development services.
As an approved vendor, Kickboard will offer LAUSD schools an array of professional development services to build leadership capacity for school culture and equity initiatives. These services include Kickboard’s newest program, Advancing Racial Equity in Education. Developed in partnership with Overcoming Racism, this professional development program is designed to help leaders build culturally responsive schools where students can thrive socially, emotionally, and academically. By increasing cultural awareness and enhancing leadership and instruction, schools can transform educational opportunities, access, and outcomes for every student.
In addition, Kickboard will offer professional development services on topics such as positive school culture planning, using school culture data to drive continuous improvement, reducing chronic absenteeism, and implementing behavior Response to Intervention (RTI).
“While climate and culture initiatives may differ from one school to another, there is one factor central to their success: professional development,” said Stefan Kohler, CEO of Kickboard. “What sets Kickboard apart from other professional development providers is that we help leaders cultivate the right mindsets, systems, practices, and data to create sustainable change. Whether schools are just beginning this work or are further along, we can meet them where they are and guide their leaders and teachers in a continuous cycle of improvement toward the positive culture outcomes students deserve.”
