25 Free or Inexpensive PBIS Rewards to Recognize Positive Student Behavior in your School

Rewarding students for positive behavior is key for creating a positive school culture. For some good ideas, take a look at the list below of free or inexpensive rewards written by Laura A. Riffel, Ph.D. from her seminar on Schools Implementing School-wide PBIS. Using these simple questions: “What would mean the world to you?” and “What could an adult give you that would let you know you had done a good job; but, it can’t cost much money?”’ she was able to develop rewards and rituals that were valued by students. As you start to incorporate student buy-in, you will find it easier to manage student behavior and realize an increase in positive behaviors occurring in your classroom.
